i would like to say,on feb.22 2011, i watched two lights side by side and no noise and 1 of them left and 15 minutes later # 2 left ,almost same flight pattern.The second 1 had a bright light in the front and red on the left and on the right the was bluesish green and 2 white lights from the back. #2 flew dirrectley over head of my apt. building with no sound ,in a leaser fashion,they went the same dirrection as the first .Apon my first seeing them one was bigger than the other and they where stationary for at least 20 minutes before the first one moved.proir to a wk. before i watched a bight light in the same area.thoght it was a plane till it stopped moving and an hour later was still there.

Cornelius, Ore. near Hobbs Farm 3-6-11. Last night around 10 pm I observed something floating in the sky with a stack of multiple flashing colored lights. I immediatly thought that it could be a helo. But after further observation I could see spectacular colors and in an unusual configuration. The lights were coming from the South traveling North.

It's getting more and more difficult to do so. Effects can be added to video so easily these days via computer - for example, the big debate whether the Jerusalem UFO is a hoax or not.

On the other hand, a convincing fake that can't be proved fake...well, it might serve those of us interested in the phenomenon anyway. It might not be an ideal way of drawing even more people into looking for UFOs, but as the saying goes, there's no such thing as bad publicity... And if a clever hoax gets more people looking, who knows, the next real sighting might have dozens of irrefutable videos taken by witnesses.

Got a call last night of something floating in the sky to the north of Salem, large and sparkling.

I told them they were probably seeing the ISS, and they responded that it had ceased moving and was stationary. So shot my space station theory out the window. ;-) We're getting a lot of unexplained sightings in Oregon.

Interesting sighting by your coworker. Worth keeping a camera nearby in case it comes back.

A coworker shared a story with us this morning. She and her husband were in bed about 10:30 last night when they heard a long loud whistling sound, much like the wind, is how she described it. This was followed by a 5 sided object hovering outside their window with multiple colored lights on it. She said the things hovered there, spinning and then shot off into the sky at an unnatural angle.

Thanks for the comment and update! We seem to be getting a lot of sightings in the Pacific Northwest lately.

What worries me is what could be so bad that the government would hide this from us? Because religious fanatics might not like it? That's weak. Is there something sinister about these extraterrestrial visitations that they're keeping from us to keep us from panicking?

I just don't get it. The whole world would unite, it seems to me, when confronted with the reality of an actual alien intelligence out there, monitoring us. It would be so beneficial.

If it comes down to just men wanting to stay in charge and in power, keep us under control... That's just too sickening for me to contemplate.

this is very strange and crazy cause on the 22nd I saw two unexplained lights first time was around 6 30 pm it was heading south from north which I live in the cascade park area and at first i thought the first light was a satellite and was fooled by it then at around 7 30 pm I went outside for a cigerette break and saw the same light going east from west. The lights looked like stars but moving and the lights were pulsating and then disappeared... Not the same as satellites, so I went online to see if any satellites were above at this time, which there were not... We are just ants in a aliens farm so we are always being checked on, nice to see real evidence and once again denied by our governments lies.. We are never alone.

Pacific Northwest over all is getting hit. Vancouver just had a sighting too. I was out camping in Eastern Oregon over the weekend and saw some sort've fireball. (Yeah, the guy running a UFO website didn't have a camera, sigh.)

Once you see something unexplainable it's a bit hard to forget...

It's worth dreaming about. I think with modern tech it would take something like 10,000 years to reach the nearest possibly habitable planet. Unfortunate as they'd likely be passed up by whatever we built after their launch capable of much greater speeds.

I think part of the NASA and DARPA project consideration was building the ship and sending it to Mars. I find that much more viable and beneficial in the short term. I see no reason for us not having more of a colonization plan for Mars or the moon. Volunteers could be easily found and with a dedicated ship for back and forth cargo/personnel movements men and women could be rotated out as necessary for health reasons and the technology advancement from such a permanent endeavour would be considerable.

In my humble and crazy opinion. ;-) Thanks for commenting, I'll have to visit that forum, if not provide a link at our subdomain here.

also, please check out the Daedalus and the Icarus projects, also I found a recent article about a concept ship called the Nautilus-x. Tau Zero has been continuing the Daedalus legacy with Icarus and seems to do an alright job disseminating information and suggested reading lists for those interested in the edge of the propulsion/physics envelope

Ah you crazy kids, a colonization effort cannot begin until probes have been sent to determine the habitability of candidate systems, nor are any candidate systems close enough to reach in 100 years with modern propulsion technology. Much more likely developments in the near future might be something along the lines of Lunar or asteroid colonies for the purposes of mining, research, habitation, tourism, and eventually manufacturing. There's a rather in depth thread analyzing the profitability of a gold mine on the Moon that touches on these issues as well at the Bad Astronomer/Universe Today forum.

I just saw a ufo today in front royal va. I was at the park with my son and I saw a crome ball looking object in the sky, so I watched it for about 10 seconds barely moving.So i reached for my phone to take a pic..by the time I looked back up it was gone. mind you there was not a clould in the sky today. This was not a plane! I could clearly see it,and it was relativly low. so I watched the sky for a bit ..and it came back!in the same spot out of nowhere. The same thing happened again I reached for my phone and looked up and it was gone

February 1, 2011. Seen from Grants Pass, Oregon. Exactly what you described. It was huge, then smaller and faded out. Fiery Orange. Non-flickering. My dad went outside and pointed it out. Too bad we couldn't video tape because my phone was dead. Reply at gabeluvssoccer@yahoo.com.

January 27, 2011. Seen from Ashland. I saw it towards Talent as I was driving home at about 10 pm, and it just seemed odd and out of place. As soon as I got home, I ran and got my 16 year old son to see it with me. It was traveling in a SE direction, so it went from the Talent direction and headed between us and Grizzly Peak and then as it was heading towards the lake it sort of 'burnt out' and disappeared. It was silent, orange like the color of a flame, steady and not flickering. It seemed to be about maybe 2000 feet up from us - hard to judge distance and speed at night. No aircraft lights. Not far enough away to be a satellite. The direction did seem to change somewhat. We watched for probably 5 minutes before the light just faded out. I have never seen anything like this before.

Read, "The Day After Roswell" written by a retired Col in the Army c1997 who had all the files on the Roswell incident from 1948 and how the US Army harvested the technology from the alien craft. Also, visit the UFO Museum in Roswell, New Mexico and read the testimonials on the walls of the museum. Locomotion is suspected to be a method of manipulating the gravitational field and has a lot to do with electromagnetic force, including their method of communication, i.e. brain waves. Stephen Hawking remarked that you might not want to meet one as they may be hostile.

I think it would be interesting to visit a planet and note areas of high nuclear activity contained within structures and to see that the inhabitants are using these places to power their energy needs. Well worth studying. If we were friendly and wanted to measure their evolution etc but if we were hostile, such places would be the first places to strike. Either option would require us to study such powerful productive structures along with other things on the planet.

I think it would be prudent to not pay to much attention to what Chinese researchers say. Remember the same group claimed to have filmed a UFO during the eclipse and yet have not released any evidence which "puts their credibility firmly out the window". Why would UFO"s want to appear mostly in years that end with 7, 1, 2, ? Such nonesense.
